Tips and Advice on Finding the Most Suitable Baby Carrier

Posted

We all know how special a mother and child bond is. This unbreakable tie starts the moment you discover that new life is growing inside your womb! When he is your, your baby craves and need your touch and to be physically near you, and whether or not you feel it instantly, your body wants and needs exactly the same from your new born baby. We all want to hold our precious cargo as close to our chests as we possibly can, but when life gets in the way, one has to revert to modern day means to lend a supportive hand, to ensure you get everything done while still being close to your baby.

Baby wearing is nothing new, and midwives far and wide have been recommending it for ages. Holding your infant as close to your chest as possible hold countless emotional as well as intellectual plus points to your child’s development. Baby carriers have literally been changing the way we carry our kids around and before you invest in the most expensive one you can find, remember that there are certain key factors that have to be checked before you decide to purchase the product. They include:

Safety – Obviously you want to keep your baby out of harm’s way so your carrier should always meet industry specific standards. The infant should be in a correctly aligned position as to not create bad posture that could lead to tenderness, and when being carried around the carrier should be able to provide efficient support to your infant while providing maximum comfort.

Comfort – This is where how you feel actually matters. The carrier should fit you well and the straps should be adjusted so that you are able to wear your baby around in the carrier for extended periods of time without discomfort. Baby’s weight should be distributed evenly in the carrier and the carrier should have adjustable settings to personalize as needed to maximize your comfort level.

Versatility – It’s always best to rather buy a carrier that might be a little more expensive and has the whole enchilada (ranges from new born to age 3) than having to go back later and buy another carrier just because your baby has outgrown the other feature. Carriers should be adjustable and be able to flip from back to front with minimal effort.

Usability – So you have this awesome carrier gadget but it literally takes a team plus some mad ninja moves to get it on! Not so desirable. Your carrier should be easy to use and you should be able to quickly and efficiently make changes to the straps/facing position of your baby with minimal effort.
